  1. I have a drama screenplay that is sure to entertain. I am a member of the Romance Writers of America. I am an avid reader of romance. I have B.A. degree in history. I have professional writing credits that include institutional messages and success stories for marketing materials from a corporate company. I am getting ready to work on another screenplay. I hope someday to see my writing portrayed on the big screen for all to see.

Re: Greek screenwriter looking for U.S. representation.

    Dear ,

I am a creator from Greece.
I am a simple person, who lived with a famous artist and together we had a daughter.
The whole story is a true one apart from its ending, which is the one the writer wishes to were true.
The whole play is inspired from the curse that man drags since his distant past for the “chase for matter”.
It is a reality travelling through the aeons with man’s passing to social life (the meaning of the goat-footed God Pan) until nowadays and will torture man more and more to the coming future.
Man carries his vanity and struggles for obtaining as many goods as possible, without realizing that in this vain chase for matter one loses the meaning of his life and existence.
The script I have written is a three-part trilogy.
    1. “The chase for matter.”
    2. “The trials of matter.”
    3. “The way to happiness.”

    Title: “The chase for matter.”

    Genre: Drama

The main idea: Alex, deuteragonist, a talented musician, becomes also a victim of the goat-footed god, Pan.
Always driven by Pan and with the support of Pan’s previous victim, his father Ian, comes into the life of the naive heroine Eleana and promises her a beautiful family, though his aim is to use her to obtain glory and money.
Eleana filled with love, admiration and faith for her husband and father of her daughter, Alex, thinking that her own dream will come true, enters this vain «chase for matter» without realizing that she serves Alex’s dream and destroys all her efforts for her own life.
Syringe (the sense of consciousness), who has tried for aeons to get free from the matter and stop the curse that the “goat-footed” carried, warns Eleana of the dark future that expected her, but Eleana trying to keep her dream alive, like everyone, follows her destiny.
Alex abandoned her and their little daughter when he faced a good opportunity to accomplish his goal earlier.
Syringe felt sorry for Elena and stood by her side like a good friend.
She told her about the curse on the “chase for matter” and how one could break it if he wanted to, after going through certain trials.
For her daughter’s sake and for the sake of all children on earth, Eleana decided to go through these “trials of matter” which Syringe showed her.
Through those trials she discovered how strong she was. She got to know herself and managed to break the curse and make her own beautiful world filled with humanity, a world in which everyone found their “way to happiness”.

    MAIN HEROES – CHARACTERS
GOD PAN: Glass-faced, ironist, jackanapes, entrancing, seducer.

ALEX: Ambitious, gentle, sensitive, diligent, entertainer, with many faces instigated by God Pan.

    SYRINGE: Mature, realist, intellectual, spiritual.

ELEANA: Sociable, diligent, cheerful, conscientious, warm-hearted, simple in believing others.

    IAN: Compulsive drinker, sensitive, entertainer.

NEFELI: A child that cannot accept reality, feels loneliness and isolation, afraid of trusting people.

    SUMMARIES OF THREE PART TRILOGY
    TITLED “CHASE FOR MATTER”

    Part 1
    “Chase for matter”
    Summary

    Very distant past
The goat-footed God, Pan, is chasing the nymph Syringe by a lakeshore to satisfy his beastie passion.
The nymph Syringe is asking God Ladon to save her from Pan’s hands.
Ladon feels pity for her and transforms her into a reed.
Pan cuts off this reed and makes a Panpipe out of it.
    (Greek mythology.)
Syringe’s soul doesn’t escape from her body on time and remains imprisoned in the pipe (the matter).

    Distant past
Alex is a seven-year-old gypsy boy, who has no mother. He is wrapped with a torn blanket, shivering with high fever; his heart is filled with pain and he is listening to his grandma and grandpa, who are raising him, talking about their son and his father, Ian, and how unfair it is now that Ian is eating, drinking, having fun and sleeping with the nymphs, and they cannot afford to buy medicine, blankets and food for their little and sick grandchild.

One midnight Alex is sitting by the fainting fire outside their gypsy tent. He is happy for the handmade Panpipe his grandpa gave to him and he is trying to blow out a few notes. Pan approaches him gleefully and offers him talent, glory and money. In exchange he asks to be allowed to use Alex’s body for his lecherous lovesickness for the nymphs.
Young Alex, frightened of Pan’s looks and astonished by the glory he promised, accepts something he doesn’t know about.
Syringe is sad because Pan found his next victim to carry on this curse for “the chase for matter” and because once more her soul would be imprisoned in this curse.

    Past
Eleana is a 29-year old well-known advertiser and painter. She is diligent, active and sociable; she dreams of having a perfect family.
Syringe (waiting for eons for somebody to stop this curse, always trying to keep Pan from carrying on his curse and being aware of his intentions), warns Eleana in a dream for the unpleasant future she is going to have, but Eleana, being very optimistic, interprets her dream the wrong way.
21-year old Alex (having Pan to lead and support him) appears in her life and under Pan’s instructions is aiming to use her for succeeding his vainglorious plans for glory and money.
Romantic Eleana is entranced hearing the doleful and emotional sound of the panpipe.
She feels for Alex when he talks to her about his difficult childhood.
His manifold and sophisticated character impresses her.
She is thrilled by his speed.
As a woman, the goat-footed god charms her.
She starts growing a feel of love for Alex.
Syringe appears through a material form (substantial to Eleana) and approaches her in order to help her see the reality and block the goat-footed god from accomplishing his plans.
Alex with Pan’s guidance, after promising her a perfect family, love, faith and prosperity, introduces her easily into his dream for glory.
Ian, the previous victim of the curse and Alex’s father, comes filled with love and concern for his son and verifies to Eleana Alex’s good intentions for the perfect family.
Eleana is happy because the relation between father and son has been reestablished and they are in good terms now, all of them targeting to a beautiful family future.
Eleana day-by-day becomes Alex and Pan’s victim, denies listening to any negative aspects, and within a very short time decides to marry Alex.
She works day and night and when she does not work she stands by her husband restlessly. She likes that they struggle together for a better future for them and their daughter Nefeli, who came to fulfill her happiness.
Eleana, in Alex’s fast crazy speed, is impressed with the countless roles he plays. On one hand she is amused by his cynical behavior towards others, but also wonders how he can fool everyone and yet be dear to all.
There were only a few times when Alex confused his roles, because Pan was either absent or irritated, but after all it was not that difficult for those two impostors to trick Eleana, who is a spectator of others, forgets to see her own part in it and doesn’t realize that this theatre is also played against her and her daughter.
Syringe in vain tried for six years to wake her up from her lethargy. Eleana keeps on kidding herself because she didn’t want her dream to faint. Trying to help her talented and sedulous husband, she gives up her own career; the one she had succeeded after overcoming great difficulties.
Alex has a great chance to conquer his goal in less time. Pan advises Alex to use Ian and persuade him to invest his money on his son’s career. Ian accepts that, after Alex promises him that he is going to give him share of what he earns in the future. Alex, having Ian’s cover, decides to abandon poor Eleana (since he doesn’t need her any more) and their little daughter aged only 4.5 years old.
The goat-footed god was laughing for a whole day and night on his success.
Syringe uses a dream, which was so real; to show Eleana that he who would come to use her as a nymph was not her husband but the goat-footed.
Eleana is so blended by the lust for her husband after he had been away for five months, and also because she wanted to believe that she is still desirable as a woman, falls easily in the love trap that the goat-footed put for her.
Even when she sees Alex leaving as a vanquisher, having Pan by his side leaping and laughing sarcastically, she appreciates and feels for his sacrifice to migrate so that she and her daughter would have a better future.
Syringe was very sad. Eleana had betrayed her. Her soul would stay imprisoned in the matter once more.
Syringe’s silent cry could be heard at dawn like a hurt breeze of air through the reeds.

    Part 2
    “The trials of matter.”
    Summary

Elana is sitting by the lakeshore, next to the reeds, sunken in sorrow. She cannot believe that her husband, Alex, after using her, he abandoned her with a child. It’s impossible to believe that her husband abandoned their little daughter forever.
Syringe (in her material existence) stands by Eleana’s side like a dear friend. She talks to Eleana of the curse that the goat-footed-god carries, abut his victim Alex, and also about the previous victim of this curse Alex’s father, Ian, who had also abandoned little Alex to conquer glory and money.
The curse carried on from generation to generation and the spell was to be broken from he who would go through four trials in four different worlds.
Eleana was afraid that the next victim of this curse would be her beloved daughter; so she decides for her sake to go through those worlds and break the spell.
Syringe promises her that she would intervene and help her whenever she is allowed to.

The first world Eleana got in was a heavenly garden in a castle behind huge walls.
When she entered the hidden door of the castle, Eleana lost her memory.
In this garden there lived men and women above 35, all dressed in white robes. They all seemed calm, friendly and happy and they were playing like little children.
They welcomed Eleana and when they realized how good a painter she was, the older of all, who seemed to be their leader, asked her to scale a model of the garden they loved. In exchange they would offer her food from the tree fruits and a bed to sleep.
Eleana gladly accepted and worked on this miniature model from morning till night, leaned on a table, by the lakeshore that was in the garden.
Many times people in the garden gathered around her and admired her work, but she was wrapped in creating and did not take any notice; she always had a sign of sorrow drawn on her face.
The goat-footed god was playing the panpipe happily behind the reeds of the lake.
When she was going to sleep at night she could hear a strange voice that made her upset, saying that her daughter needed her.
Syringe felt pity on her. She went and met her in that garden; she carried her in her arms and took her to another place where they met the people from the garden, but they were living a different kind of life.
Selfishness, irresponsibility, apathy, laziness and loneliness were the emotions that characterized them.
Eleana realized that this world was the real one; shocked she found her memory and remembered that she had a daughter and it was for her sake that she had been there.
She thanked Syringe for helping her go through the first trial; she found a hidden door and left that world.

The second world that Eleana went in was a mythical town in an oasis in the middle of the dessert.
The people she met there seemed kind, warm-hearted and hospitable. The first thing that Eleana had in her mind was to find a job.
She got lucky, because a wealthy married couple that lived in the town with their children was looking for a maid to take care of their bedridden grandma that lived with them, so they could go to their work. In exchange they would offer Eleana food and sleep.
Eleana considered this as a gift from God.
She stayed in that house, she took care of the old lady and, being conscious of her responsibilities, she also served the rest of the family.
Many times she prepared lavish meals to wealthy visitors, who came to see sick grandma.
They informed Eleana about the master of this magical town who was in command. The master had authority and power. He lived in the town palace with his generals and priests; the latter had the gift of communicating and transferring God’s will and help to the people in the town.
People of the town worshipped the master and pinned their faith on him. They even gave their houses to the palace, and pledged their children’s lives to serve the master and his generals.
As Eleana saw all this faith and heard about miracles, hope grew in her heart that the master might willingly help her to get free of this curse for the “chase for matter” sooner. So she expressed her will to the couple of the house she was working in to help her meet the master.
At the time she was serving the old lady some strange and mysterious things happened in the house, and Eleana felt her need to meet the master growing every day, and hear God’s will from his priests.
A good lady who was coming to the house and her faith to the master did not that strong, realized how strong was Eleana’s need to draw hope from God through the priests, and she did whatever she could to arrange an appointment with the master.
Eleana stood patiently in the queue with the rest of the people that waited to meet the master, in the palace yard, until night fell.
She was very disappointed when the priest, that the master suggested she should go to, neither gave her any hope nor he showed her some way to follow.
Eleana disappointed, feeling out of breath, unable to think of anything, unable to see where she was going, walked up a hill, not far from the palace. She collapsed by the shore of a little pond that was there and sobbed her heart out.
The goat-footed god played sarcastically the panpipe behind the reeds.
Syringe felt pity for her. She came close, took her by the hand and led her to a nearby building that looked like a shed.
As they went in the dimly lighted building, the two women saw a lot of teenagers bent over work-benches sculpturing stones to create beautiful statues, works of art.
Eleana remembered the aged, weary woman who came to the house to sell such statues, during the meals that Eleana prepared in the house she was working at. Eleana gathered the leftovers from the table and gave her them to feed her orphan grandchildren; one of them, as the woman told her, had pledged his life to serve in the palace court.
No sooner did Eleana realize that the master was taking advantage of these wretched people; he deprived the fees for their children’s labor and their right to live in dignity.
She was tremendously hurt, but she realized that she had to break the spell on her own and not wait for anyone else to help her.
So after having gone through one more trial, she found the hidden door out of this world and she got out pretty tired towards the third world.

The third world that Eleana visited had some tiny little men living in the caves of a forest.
They were frightened as soon as they saw Eleana, but when they realized that they were not in danger, they approached her under instruction of their leader and asked her to stay with them. She would help them with the difficult chores and in exchange they would offer her food and a place to sleep.
Eleana accepted and stayed with them. She thought that this trial would have to be the easiest one of all.
But the little people were very greedy and kept asking from her to do more and more.
Eleana loved all of them and did whatever they asked her to, trying not to favor anyone of them, but still they were all complaining.
It was then that Syringe came to meet her; she told her to organize a feast.
Eleana worked on this for days. She made tables and chairs using tree logs, she cleaned the forest, cut the weeds, collected fruits from the trees, prepared many different meals, fetched water from the river …
The mistress of the forest was jealous of Eleana. She used flatterers to persuade the little people that they should prefer her own feast, which was to be held at a distance form Eleana’s. So they did and they danced and laughed for a whole day and night listening to the panpipe that Pan played by the reeds.
The next day the little people stayed in their caves and felt happy for all the sorrow and the harm they caused to Eleana.
Eleana sat by the riverside near the reds and wept her heart out; she felt that all hope to break the spell for the chase of matter was lost.
Syringe came by and gave a Eleana the gift of getting energy from her soul, so that her body would not feel tired and her mind would capture people’s inner thoughts, and also to be able to see the trials they had in the past, and Eleana took an angel form.
Syringe and Eleana together felt sad for the little people. Then, after Eleana thanked Syringe, having no fear in her heart and faith that she would break the spell, she went on to the fourth and last trial.

    Part 3
    “The way to happiness.”
    Summary

Eleana in her angel form armed with power and determined to break the spell of the goat-footed for “the chase for matter”, walked on a long and difficult path.
Her feet were bleeding. She was thirsty, hungry and needed sleep, but she did not give up. She did not want her daughter or any other child in the world to be the next victim of this tragic curse.
She was filled in awe when she entered through the hidden door and faced the fourth world.
This world was filled with metal buildings, all covered with a gray cloud; there was no color anywhere.
Most of the people there were robots and only about 5% were humans.
The richer a robot was, the more powerful.
They sat behind metal desks day and night, giving commands.
They had prime posts, directed and pre-scheduled, and they used the few humans as mounts.
The humans had to work hard just to get a little bread and a place to sleep for those very few hours that they were not working.
Eleana felt very sad as she saw that the goat-footed was ruling this world.
Syringe, as a very loyal friend, was now going along with Eleana’s aspect and she felt no longer the need to get free from the “matter”. She enjoyed being close to Eleana.
Both Eleana and Syringe observed human-robots, who were slaves of the curse from the goat-footed and they were all lonely and miserable, suffering from the lack of the joys of life.
At first they felt sad about them, but then sadness turned into anger.
They started gathering every human they met, into a family that was growing day-by-day.
Humans were all equal, with no leaders amongst them. They were all taken to a big farm in the country and there they started cultivating and taking care of the land. They shared the goods nature gave them and they supported each other like brothers and sisters. They raised their children with care and love, attended their old aged parents and helped everyone who needed them.
A mother with her daughter, both human-robots, envied that huge family, because they were constantly arguing and miserable.
The indignant mother aspersed her famous husband, who had rejected his daughter and had no concern about her upbringing.
The young daughter was hurt because of her father’s rejection and also because she considered her mother responsible for depriving her the chance to meet her covetable father; she felt hate for both her parents and she erupted in violence at her mother.
The family of the humans accepted these two women with love.
Within the family the mother stopped feeling lonely and weak. She turned to human and decided to stop every controversy against her husband and the father of her daughter, because the only result she got out from it, was to upset her peace of mind.
Eleana and Syringe first talked to the mother and then they took the daughter along to a long trip to meet her father, hoping that there was still left something human in that father human-robot.
The father human-robot although had achieved glory and wealth, could not understand what it was that made him feel unhappy.
Eleana, Syringe and the girl met the father human-robot and stood in front of him saying nothing.
When the father faced his daughter got very upset and he saw himself in her eyes. He stood there staring at her for a few moments and meanwhile memories came to his mind:
(His father had also abandoned him when he was a child and his grandma and grandpa raised him.
When he was 18 his father came back to see him, when he was told that his son had a serious accident and he was in the intense care of a hospital.
Then his father gave a try to approach and help him, but the son had no feelings and denied that, after using him first, under the advice of the goat-footed, and made no effort to span the gap in their relation.)
The father human-robot was shaken! It was as if he understood what was the cause of depriving him happiness. It was the family that he had never felt as a whole.
He tried to hold a tear and walked hesitantly to give his daughter a hug, because he was afraid that she might reject him.
“Forgive me”, he told her, “and I will do everything for you from now on”.
The girl nodded her head affirmatively.
She seemed she was forgiving him, but she needed time to trust him.
The human-robot thanked the two women, and took them along with his little daughter and made another long trip, to another place on earth, to meet his father and the girl’s grandpa.
The grandpa human-robot was cloistered at a lonely place and cultivated the land, carrying his very own stings of remorse.
When he faced his son and granddaughter, hard for him to believe what he was living, he kneeled and thanked God for this unhoped-for gift he send him; then he asked them for their forgiveness and opened his arms to hug his son and granddaughter.
They all stood there hugging each other and cried in happiness.
    So did Eleana and Syringe.
Then the goat-footed god’s spell broke.
Grandfather, son and granddaughter were all turned to humans.
The goat-footed god vanished to ashes.
Syringe got free from the pipe, but decided to remain with Eleana.
Eleana could not believe what was happening.
With Syringe as her guardian angel, wearied but happy that the curse of the chase for matter was gone, she got free and run out of this fourth world of her trials. She returned to her home and hugged her beloved daughter, Nefeli.
-“Everything is going to be fine from now on”, she told her.
-“And will dad and grandpa come back?”
Then Syringe appeared to little Nefeli, in a very bright light and filled her with hope.
Eleana seemed now more optimist than ever.

After some time Alex and his father Ian, penitent came back to meet Nefeli.
They rang the doorbell shyly, afraid that Eleana would not open.
But Eleana welcomed them, because she felt that her struggle was worth it.
She saw her 12-year-old daughter shining in happiness.
She and her friends had a party till morning for her daughter’s dad and grandpa return.
A breeze of air carried to their ears the happy notes from the panpipe coming from the reeds.

I did some research on this scenario and it seems that it has a lot of reasons for success, and here are some of them:

    It has a unique style!
Everyone can feel that the story is real.
Reality is perfectly linked to the myth.
The story runs quickly, therefore it does not make one feel tired.
The story keeps the reader constantly in touch with it.
The story consists of little parts and everyone finds in these something from himself or herself.
It travels the reader to nature, music and fantasy.
They can feel the value of communication and human touch.
They can see the real meaning of life and happiness that came to look like a fairy tale.
They all like Syringe (everybody wishes for a true and everlasting friend like her by their side)
They like the plot, its social sometimes metaphysical and humanitarian aspect.
The heroine’s moral victory and the unexpectedly happy end of her family’s story, are both sealed with the reader’s tear (viewer afterwards)

The script is registered in variable ways!!!

  3. I’ve watched the tv show Queer as folk recently, and it was something different, I know it’s very controversial show even to myself, but finaly i came up with ideas about making a parody about this show, it’s sure that the show is popular, so I might think that the parody might be popular as well.

I liked the idea of the film as I said, but not the way it was put, it was too graphic, in my script it’s very modest and not graphic at all, because it’s all about comedy and not other things

  4. I’ve currently written a screen play named A Forgotten Child. The main dramatic question for this play is what happens to a child rose by an undeveloped mother in and an unstable home and is reunited after a certain amount of years? Certainly there is to be drama and unresolved conflict when the mother’s true motive is reveled from a brief visit in the middle of the night. Throughout the play you will take a journey with the main character as she proceeds to face trails and turmoil when she is left to stand alone and face the world and the destiny before her.

  5. My current project is ‘where my roots are’ about a young mother whose foreparents were from different origins, troubled by her past and eventually comes to find out her true roots. Its how past and present mingle to find exactly who were are and problems faced by our foreparents, making one appreciate what they have at present.

  6. “RACERS” (drama) (screenplay)

Log line: A long time friendship is tested and strained to the limits when two high school buddies enter the dangerous world of street drag racing and one falls for the other one’s girlfriend.

  7. “WHEELS OF LIFE” (drama) (screenplay)

Log Line: An ex-gang member, now college senior, is forced to revisit his past when his fiancée is kidnapped by former gang rivals.

  8. “HEAVENLY BROTHERS” (supernatural) (screenplay)

Log Line: A series of calamitous events on the earth causes a bitter rift between God and Lucifer leaving Michael with the daunting task of restoring peace on earth, harmony in the heavens and a sense of civility between his father and brother.
