We are looking for feature-length stories in any genre featuring parkour/freerunning – i.e. something in the vein of ‘Banlieue 13,’ or ‘Breaking and Entering.’ We strongly prefer stories which not only feature freerunning, but where freerunning is an integral part of the storyline. The production team includes a very well-known freerunning name who is willing to co-produce and star in the picture.
Budget will not exceed $5 million. WG and non-WG writer may submit.

We are looking for completed feature-length high-concept teen thrillers. By high-concept, we mean something that is extremely commercial and can be pitched in a single sentence – i.e. not an “art-house” film. We are not open to slashers such as “Friday the 13th.” Note that we are looking for thrillers and not horrors. No gore, creature features or vampires/werewolves. We are more interested in suspenseful stories. Supernatural is acceptable. The main characters must be teens. We prefer psychological or supernatural thrillers – i.e. something in the vein of “Swimfan,” “Disturbing Behavior,” “Killing Mr. Griffin” or “Disturbia.”
Budget will not exceed $3 million. WG and Non-WG writers may submit.

We are looking for completed feature-length ultra low-budget family-audience scripts that can be shot in a rural setting. We would be shooting in a studio in rural Texas, so we are looking for stories that take advantage of the rural area, rather than a big city. The story should not involve profane language or explicit sex or violence. Because of the low budget, we prefer stories that are more drama or comedy rather than action.
Budget will not exceed $250,000. Non-WG writers only may submit.

We are looking for completed feature-length drama scripts with extreme magical realism, written with a male lead role in his 20’s. By extreme magical realism, we mean situations that involve fantasy-like or supernatural ideas in a hyper-reality, but still grounded in realistic characters or woven seamlessly into our natural world. In other words, “Star Wars” is not magical realism. Often, magical realism plays with the idea of two realities and how they conflict with each other, or a character with multiple identities or perceptions. We are not looking for sword and sandal fantasies, alien sci-fi or horrors. If you are not sure about magical realism, please ask the writer’s department at InkTip or google the term for definitions/examples of films. The below examples have the extreme magical realism element to it: “The Fountain,” “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” “The Matrix,” “What Dreams May Come” “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” and “Pleasantville.” To a lesser extent, other examples that feature elements of magical realism are “Fight Club,” “American Psycho” and “Adaptation.” Also, think films by David Lynch, Terry Gilliam or Charlie Kaufman scripts. We are not looking for straight dramas like “Doubt” or “Revolutionary Road” without the magical realism element – it is essential. The premise should be original and thought-provoking, which is difficult to find these days. In other words, we are not looking for a modern spin on an old tale or classic stories, so no detective stories or biopics please.
Budget has yet to be determined. WG and Non-WG writers may submit.

We are looking for completed feature-length scripts with Latina-American lead characters as writing samples for a possible writer-for-hire opportunity. We are especially interested in inspirational writing samples that convey the Latina characters overcoming obstacles – i.e. something along the lines of “Erin Brockovich” meets “Real Women Have Curves.” This will be for a project based on a true story set in Mexico, so writing samples with Mexican-specific cultural references will also be appreciated. If your cover letter, pitch and resume grab us, we’ll request the first few pages or a completed script as a writing sample for further consideration.
Budget has yet to be determined. WGA and non-WGA writers may submit.

I’m interested in hearing from all writers who are currently entered in this year’s Nicholl’s Fellowship Contest 2009 (and only 2009). Genre doesn’t matter. I’m looking for writers who made it into this year’s semi/quarterfinals and are looking for a literary manager (those with agents or attorneys are also welcome).
Please only submit the title, logline, synopsis and resume for the screenplay that made it as listed above. These are the only writers I am open to considering. In your personal message please confirm your status with the contest. I will look over your logline for the script that was in the contest and request the script if it appeals to me.
